A little about Bree Tillitzki

Bree is an Australian dressage rider competing at Grand Prix dressage. Bree has been passionately pursuing dressage for many years. In that pursuit with the help of her parents Robert and Leanne, BZ Warmbloods was developed.

Bree began riding before she could walk. She was always destined to ride as both Robert and Leanne were competitive riders themselves. Robert was a bulldogger and bull-rider who represented Australia in the USA. Leanne was a successful barrel racer. Bree went to the Cessnock Pony Club where her enthusiasm for dressage began. As a young rider Bree began training with Rozzie Ryan with her pony Rothwell Country Life (Tom) and quickly skipped up the grades. At 15 Bree was fortunate to get the ride on Mansfield Axel who was a Grand Prix school master owned by Joanna Green. Bree and Axel competed up to Prix St Georges level and went on to win the Australian National Young Rider Championships.

Bree's after school riding lessons with Rozzie quickly developed into Bree going to the NSW Equestrian Centre at Lochinvar every day after school. Bree soon bonded with Regardez Moi, Heath Ryans imported dressage stallion. This evolved into Bree walking Regardez Moi out every day for an hour. In 2009 Bree accompanied Regardez Moi half way across the world to Las Vegas where he and Heath Ryan represented Australia in the dressage World Cup Final. After finishing her HSC Bree started work full-time for Heath and Rozzie Ryan.

Bree went on to work for Heath and Rozzie for over ten years. In this time Bree had the ride on the beautiful black stallion, Fiji R. Fiji and Bree campaigned through the levels to Grand Prix with many successes. Fiji was a wonderful horse with a huge heart who helped to shape Bree’s riding career today. There were many other horses that were part of the journey at the Ryans. While at the Ryans Bree became the primary rider for the horses going through the Auction of the Stars. Fursten Hit (Mushu) joined the team while Bree was at the Ryans. Mushu and Bree moved through the levels from Medium through to Grand Prix. Mushu was the most beautiful natured horse and was a great next step for Bree in her dressage journey.

It was while Bree worked for Heath and Rozzie that she began her breeding program. This began with the wonderful mare Lucilla who Leanne purchased at 18 years old. Lucilla was a beautiful mare and produced another 6 foals for BZ Warmbloods before being retired from breeding. Lucilla’s genetics are still in the breeding program today. A highlight of the breeding program is the wonderful BZ Rafael (Raffy). Raffy was bred here in Branxton and trained through the levels of dressage by Bree and is now looking very exciting at Grand Prix.

Bree has a number of her own horses that she is competing in dressage and in a new development eventing! We are looking forward to what comes next in the BZ Warmbloods journey and what the next generation of BZ horses can do!
